A man in his 20s has been taken to hospital after he was stabbed while boarding a TTC bus in the city's east end.

Toronto police were called to the area of Victoria Park Avenue and Crescent Town Road, just north of Danforth Avenue, shortly before 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

According to Const. Jennifer Sidhu, the man was attempting to get on a bus in the area when two male suspects stabbed him in the back.

The man, who has not been identified, was rushed to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the suspects were last seen entering an apartment building on Crescent Town Road.

Sidhu says the stabbing appears to be connected with a street robbery. She says it's unclear if the two suspects stole anything from the man.
