One man was stabbed after a fight in the parking lot of the Galleria Shopping Centre in the city’s west end Friday afternoon, police said.

Someone who called 911 around noon reported that six people were fighting and at least one person had a shovel, said Toronto police Const. Tony Vella.

Mall security became involved in the fight.

A 43-year-old man, who was an employee at the mall, was stabbed in the stomach with “an unknown sharp object,” police said.

The caller said that the suspects left the parking lot in a green pick-up truck.

Police said the victim was conscious and breathing when they arrived at the mall, which is located near Dupont and Dufferin Streets.

Police said the man was taken to hospital with serious injuries not considered life threatening.

A section of the mall parking lot was blocked off as police spoke to witnesses.

Vella said police were going through footage from mall security cameras to help their investigation.

Police said they arrested one man Friday afternoon and they were still looking for a second suspect.

Police said they knew the identity of the second man they were looking for.
