Police say they are looking for a male suspect after a man and woman were found at a Hamilton address with severe stab wounds Friday.
The 28-year-old man was pronounced dead in hospital but the 39-year-old woman remained in critical condition overnight.
Police were investigating the scene of the incident which they said is located in the area of Barton Street East and Mary Street.
Hamilton police say a man was seen fleeing the area around the time the violence occurred. He is described as a white man who is tall, standing between five-foot-10 and six-feet tall. He weighs between 150 and 170 pounds. He looked to be in his early 30s with dark brown or black short hair that is neatly kept. He was wearing blue jeans, a light coloured shirt and a black leather coat when he was spotted.
“Police are hoping to identify this male to speak to him,” authorities said in a news release Saturday morning.
Police have released few details about the incident, including the relationship between both victims.
