Toronto Police have charged a 21-year-old man with two counts of arson and mischief after a pair of early morning car fires in the city’s northwest end.

Police said the suspect was apprehended after fleeing from the scene and that he tried to stuff “several objects” into a fuel cap.

Toronto Fire officials said they received a call at 2:01 a.m. about smoke and a suspicious person in an alley at 477 Keele Street, located in Toronto’s Junction neighbourhood.

The fires were out within minutes, and no one was injured.
