TORONTO - A 31-year-old man is facing 10 charges in a human trafficking investigation involving a 26-year-old woman and police say they believe there may be other alleged victims.
Police allege the woman met a man and was taken to several Toronto hotels, where the man took photographs of her and posted them on an Internet escort site advertising sexual services.
It's alleged that when the woman said she no longer wanted to service clients and wanted to go home to her family, she was beaten, threatened and not allowed to leave.
Investigators say the woman was allowed to leave the hotel room briefly on Monday and took the opportunity to escape and report the alleged abuse to nearby police officers.
Damion Sinclair of Toronto faces charges that include trafficking in persons by recruiting, withholding or destroying documents, assault and forcible confinement.
Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators.
