Police are searching for a man accused of throwing a cup of coffee on a TTC bus driver in Vaughan.

According to investigators, the incident took place on June 8 shortly after 8 a.m. on the #105 TTC bus route.

The bus driver told police a man boarded the bus near Dufferin Street and Dufferin Hill Drive.

The driver says he recognized the man as the same person who, about a month prior, verbally abused him and stole a transfer slip while he exited the bus.

Police say the driver proceeded to ask the man to leave but the man refused and walked to the back of the bus.

The bus driver told the man he would not proceed until the man got off the bus.

At that point, police say the man walked to the front of the bus and threw a cup of coffee from a silver thermal travel mug on the driver.

The driver was not injured as a result.

In an effort to identify a suspect, investigators have released surveillance video from the incident.

The suspect is described as a white male who is approximately five-foot-ten with a medium build and short, dark coloured hair. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, a blue shirt, dark coloured pants, white running shoes and sunglasses. Police say he was carrying a black and white patterned handbag at the time of the incident.
