A portion of the Bloor-Danforth subway line will be closed this weekend as crews make repairs to the Bloor Viaduct.

The TTC said Line 2 will be closed on Saturday and Sunday between St. George and Pape Stations, as trains will not be able to use the bridge across the Don Valley.

Crews will be installing cables and other work, which will allow for a City of Toronto structural repair scheduled early next year, the TTC said.

Most stations will be open for the sale of tokens and passes, but Chester, Sherbourne and Bay Stations will be closed. Bus service will operate between St. George and Pape during the closure.

Those who use the 501 Queen streetcar will also be affected by repair work this weekend.

The route will be diverting eastbound via Dundas Street East, using Church Street and Broadview Avenue. Westbound, it will divert along Gerrard Street using Broadview and Church. Replacement buses will run on Queen between Church and Broadview during the rail repair work.

Regular service will resume Monday morning.
