The organizers of a grassroots group are raising money to rent a storefront after receiving enough clothing donations to fill hundreds of bins.

"The Clothing Drive" asked residents of Toronto to donate new or lightly used clothing for dozens of refugees expected in Toronto this winter.

In one week, the group received enough donated clothing to fill 850 bins, organizers told CTV Toronto's Colin D'Mello.

However, the group received so many donations that they are now searching for a storefront to use, temporarily, for volunteers to collect, sort, store and distribute the clothing.

"Many of our members and others in the community have asked how else they can help. This is it," the group wrote on a crowdfunding page set up to raise the rent.

As of Tuesday morning, the group had raised $5,937 of its $10,000 goal.
