A female pedestrian has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle Friday afternoon.
Peel Police say it happened in the Dixie Road and Derry Road East area shortly before 4 p.m.
The woman, who is in her 20s, was struck in the intersection. She was transported to Toronto's Sunnybrook Hospital with serious injuries. Police say her condition has since been upgraded to non-life-threatening. Investigators say the woman is in Canada on a student visa.
Police have closed the eastbound lanes of Derry Road at Dixie as the major collision bureau investigates the crash.
