Environment Canada has issued snow squall warnings or watches for parts of Ontario, as the province remains in winter’s icy grip.

A snow squall watch was issued for the GTA, while warnings were issued in the Kingston and Niagara areas, and along Lake Huron.

Visibility may be near zero at times.

Across the province, people are shivering through another cold snap that has brought frigid wind chills and fierce winds.

Toronto remains under an extreme cold weather alert that was issued by city hall to increase services for the homeless.

Toronto normally sees a daytime high of 2 C at this time of year, but the temperature is expected to drop to -14 C on Thursday afternoon. It will feel like -26 with the wind chill.

Overnight, the wind chill will be -28.

Friday’s high will be -9 C, followed by highs of -2 C on Saturday and -10 C on Sunday.
