Editor's Note: Court documents obtained by CTV News Toronto show all charges against Jonathan Black in this case have been dismissed.

The son of a prominent former media mogul was in a Toronto courthouse to face an assault charge Monday.

Thirty-eight-year-old Jonathan Black, son of Conrad Black, is charged in connection with an incident that allegedly left the wrist of his 21-year-old girlfriend Caroline White broken.

The Toronto model was at the courthouse Monday as well, accompanied by her lawyer. A cast was visible on her left wrist. She did not stay for her boyfriend’s appearance.

Black’s mother Joanna MacDonald and 30-year-old brother were also in attendance.

In an exchange on Facebook, White told CTV News that Black “didn’t do anything wrong.”

“I was there today with a lawyer to get him off his wrongfully charged charges,” she wrote. “The cops took this situation into (their) own hands without knowing what happened. He’s innocent.”

At the courthouse Monday, Black agreed with his girlfriend’s statement regarding his innocence.

“She’s right, I am,” he said.

The recent legal troubles are not the first for Black. In 2011, he spent 16 days in jail for violating the terms of his probation while facing charges of uttering threats against his former live-in girlfriend.

Three years earlier, he paid a $2,000 fine in connection with a hit-and-run he was involved in.

He is due back in court Feb. 25.
