A 5-year-old boy is in life-threatening condition after being struck by a vehicle in Parkdale.

The incident happened at the intersection of Queen Street West and Jameson Avenue just after 3:30 p.m. this afternoon.

According to police, a Mercedes was heading southbound on Jameson Avenue when the child ran into the roadway and was struck.

The boy was rushed to Sick Kids Hospital with what were believed to be serious injuries, but police later upgraded his condition to life-threatening.

The vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with police in their investigation.
