A cellphone image of a suspect in an alleged sexual assault that took place on the subway earlier this year has been released by police.

A 34-year-old woman told police she was taking the southbound train towards Eglinton Station on February 5 around 8:30 a.m. when she was sexually assaulted by a fellow passenger.

The man then got off the train and walked off in an unknown direction.

The woman, according to police, went back to Eglinton Station later that day and spotted a suspect. She took a photo of the man on her cell phone.

The suspect was last seen wearing a dark jacket and blue jeans. He had a grey knapsack. He is described as 25 to 30 years old, with a medium build and black hair. He is around five-foot-nine.

Police are asking anyone with information to call 416-808-5300 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
