DID YOU KNOW?

Thousands of Toronto customers were left in the dark yesterday and today, as a mix of freezing drizzle and snow hit the city.

At the height of the power outage, more than 85,000 customers lost their power when a Hydro One transmission line went down. But that doesn’t compare to the blackout of 2003, when some 50 million North Americans suddenly lost their power.

The outage started Ohio, and then spread through eight U.S. states and Ontario.
