WEATHER

It's supposed to feel cooler today after Tuesday's high of 20 C. Environment Canada says temperatures will reach a high of 16 C today and a low of 6 C at night.

TRAFFIC

A major collision on Highway 401 near Highway 407 in Halton Hills means no westbound traffic is getting through the area. Tow trucks are at the scene.

Also in the west end, eastbound traffic along the 401 is all but stopped from Dixie Road to Keele Street. The 401 westbound is slow from Sheppard Avenue to Allen Road.

Heading south, Highway 400 and Highway 404 are slow from Steeles to the 401. The Don Valley Parkway is moving slowly southbound from the 401 to Eglinton, and northbound from the Gardiner Expressway to the 401.

The Gardiner westbound is moving at a crawl from the Sherbourne Street exit to Strachan Avenue, and eastbound from Park Lawn Road to Strachan.

Rob Ford to undergo chemotherapy

Doctors have diagnosed Toronto Mayor Rob Ford with a rare type of cancer. Dr. Zane Cohen, the doctor overseeing his care, said malignant liposarcomas represent about one per cent of all cancers. The Toronto mayor will undergo chemotherapy at Mount Sinai Hospital.

Jays to play Yankees

The Baltimore Orioles beat the Toronto Blue Jays 6-1 last night for a three-game sweep. The Jays will play the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium in New York tonight. The game starts at 7:05 p.m. ET.

Jays pitcher suspended

Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Marcus Stroman has been suspended for six games by Major League Baseball for throwing at the head of Orioles catcher Caleb Joseph. Stroman is appealing the suspension.
