It will be mainly sunny today with some light wind expected in the afternoon. Environment Canada says the daytime high will be 16 C, and the mercury will drop to a low of 5 C Thursday night.
TRAFFIC
The eastbound Gardiner Expressway is moving slowly from Royal York Road to Strachan Avenue. Heading west, there is high volume on the Gardiner from Yonge Street to Strachan.
Further north, the eastbound Highway 401 is slow from Renforth Drive to Yonge Street. The westbound 401 is slow from Meadowvale Road to Highway 409, with the highest concentration of traffic between Morningside Avenue and McCowan Road.
The southbound Highway 404 is moving slowly from Steeles Avenue down to the 401. Continuing south, the Don Valley Parkway is slow down to Eglinton Avenue, and northbound traffic is building between Don Mills Road and the 401.

Police step up presence after shootings in Ottawa
Toronto police beefed up their presence in the city after shootings in Ottawa that left a Canadian reservist and a suspected gunman dead. Police Chief Bill Blair said he ordered additional security measures to help reassure residents on a "difficult day." He stressed, however, that there was no known specific threat in the city. Meanwhile, security was also increased at City Hall and Queen's Park.
Mayoral hopefuls react to Ottawa shootings at debate
Hours after the shootings in Ottawa sent shockwaves across the country, Toronto's front-running mayoral hopefuls faced off in a debate Wednesday night hosted by CTV Toronto. Mayoral candidates Olivia Chow, Doug Ford, and John Tory extended their condolences to the family of the Canadian Forces reservist who was fatally shot, and said that it was important for Canadians to stand together in the face of such attacks.

Leafs-Senators game postponed
The NHL postponed Wednesday night's game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Senators following the shootings in Ottawa. The game was originally scheduled to take place at the Canadian Tire Centre, home of the Senators. The NHL says they will announce a date and time of the rescheduled game.
Raptors beat Israeli team Maccabi Haifa
Toronto Raptors rookie Lucas Nogueira made his debut in a pre-season game against Israel's Maccabi Haifa Wednesday night. Nogueira scored eight points in 11 minutes, lifting the Raptors to a 92-85 win over the visiting team at the ACC.
