KITCHENER, Ont. - Two young people have been charged with offences that include dangerous driving after police say a vehicle crashed into a pole following a pursuit in Kitchener, Ont.

Police say the incident occurred (on King Street near Deer Ridge Drive) around 3 a.m. Monday when officers saw a vehicle driving erratically without any lights on.

They say cruisers tried to contain the vehicle but that one of the force's cruisers was side-swiped.

Another attempt was made and police say the suspect vehicle ended up going off the road and striking a pole.

The two face charges including flight from police, dangerous driving, taking a motor vehicle without consent and driving a motor vehicle without a licence.

Their names aren't being release under Canada's youth justice law.
