A woman believed to be in her late 80s was rushed to hospital after being found lifeless in a residence's pool.

The incident occurred at about 11:20 a.m. Tuesday at a 98 Baby Point Tr. residence, which is close to the Humber River.

The woman was visiting family and apparently didn't know how to swim. Her daughter found her face-down in the pool and screamed for help.

Two construction workers nearby helped the daughter remove the woman from the pool. People performed CPR until Toronto EMS arrived.

"They were literally there within 15 seconds," Const. Tony Vella of the Toronto Police Service told CTV New about the workers.

Resuscitation efforts in the ambulance restored the woman's pulse.

She is currently in intensive care in St. Joseph's hospital. She is considered to be in life-threatening condition.
