TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs are offering little comment on a report from TMZ.com that defenceman Mike Komisarek is alleged to have punched a woman in a Hollywood nightclub.

The report surfaced on the entertainment and gossip website early Saturday.

Komisarek took part in the team's morning skate at Air Canada Centre before facing the Washington Capitals on Saturday night, but didn't speak to reporters afterwards.

Maple Leafs coach Ron Wilson briefly addressed the allegations.

"These are rumours, innuendo, on a website that we don't know anything about," said Wilson.

The Leafs visited California during a recent road trip and spent an off day in Los Angeles. They faced the Kings at Staples Center on Jan. 10.

TMZ says a woman filed a report with the Los Angeles Police Department alleging Komisarek punched her in the face and caused her to bleed.

Wilson took the report in stride, suggesting that he normally doesn't focus on gossip or rumours.

"That's all you can do (is shrug)," he said. "It's pretty common in sports or (with) movie stars or whatever. You just have to deal with it, live with it or don't bother reading any of that stuff."

Komisarek has one goal and nine points in 42 games this season for the Maple Leafs. The coach expects him to be affected by the allegations.

"I'm sure it will until everything gets cleared up," said Wilson. "That's the age that we live in."
