LONDON, Ont. -- Police in London, Ont., say a woman who was allegedly assaulted in a motel room over the weekend has died.

City police were called to the motel on Sunday in response to a reported disturbance.

They say the woman, who was found with serious injuries, was rushed to hospital in critical condition but died on Wednesday.

The cause of her death has not been released.

At the time, police arrested a 41-year-old man they said had been in a long-term relationship with the woman and charged him with one count of aggravated assault.

Police have not announced any new charges since her death.
