Preparing good healthy meals for a family can be a challenge, especially with the time crunch. But George Borovan of MealEasy.com says constantly relying on fast food or pre-packaged food isn't the answer either.

"You can either go out and eat in a restaurant or buy convenience food or got to a fast food place," Borovan told me. "And you're going to pay for someone else preparing those meals -- and you're paying a hefty price for doing that."

The Halifax-based website MealEasy.com help you plan and prepare home cooked meals. And all of the recipes have been tested by Chef Paul Routhier.

"We have 2,000 meals in our data base and each one of those meals, when they were prepared by our in house chef, was timed," Borovan said. "And one of the criteria in designing our program, was that no meal would take more than ten or 15 minutes at the outset."

It takes just 15 minutes to plan out your family's meals for the coming week. As you do that, MealEasy.com creates a shopping list. And that list can be accessed from your smart phone when you're at the grocery store.

The cost of subscription to the site is about $20 a month, but Borovan claims it can cut your food costs significantly. For example, if you make a lasagna yourself, it can cost about $1.75 per portion, perhaps $2. In a restaurant the same meal would cost between $9 and $14.

Webmania notes:

A lot of attention this week was on Apple's iPad2, which was unveiled by an ailing Steve Jobs.  It's lighter much slimmer and has two cameras front and back. Apple has also updated the processor, with a 1-gigahertz dual core Apple A-5 and HDMI.

So where does that leave the competition? As Apple introduced its second generation iPad, RIM is still working on getting its Playbook ready for market. Industry sources say April 10 is now the date, but there is still no official word from Research in Motion.

Meanwhile there is also no date for HP's long-awaited tablet. And while Motorla's Xoom is out, it's not available yet in Canada.
