Two of three CUPE 3903 units representing York University's striking workers rejected a tentative agreement Monday night.
Nearly 1,300 of 3,728 members of CUPE Local 3903 cast their ballots in the ratification vote at the Rexall Centre.
Ahead of that vote, CTV Toronto's Naomi Parness reports that some members of the union were chanting "vote no" at the Rexall Centre.
Last week, the union rejected a tentative agreement and York's teaching assistants, research assistants and contract faculty walked off the job on March 3.
Another tentative agreement was reached last Friday with the help of a provincial mediator, but that was ultimately rejected on Monday.
At issue for the union representing York workers are wages and job security for contract employees, as well as rising tuition fees and student debt, said union representative Faiz Ahmed.
