Two charged, two remain at large in connection with violent Brampton home invasion
Peel police charged two people and are looking for two more outstanding suspects in connection with a violent home invasion that occurred in Brampton more than two years ago.
In the early hours of Nov. 11, 2022, a man and his family, including his parents, wife and four children, were assaulted and robbed at gunpoint.
Police say four suspects pulled up to the driveway of the residence near Mississauga Road and Sandalwood Parkway and allegedly forced the man at gunpoint into the garage.
"Demands were made for money and the victim was struck in the head with a firearm," police said in a news release.
Three suspects then entered the home and allegedly "confronted" the rest of the family, making similar demands for money.
Meanwhile, in the garage, one suspect fired a shot at the man when he tried to flee but fortunately missed, police said.
All four suspects later fled in a stolen vehicle.
More than two years after the violent incident, which police said resulted in a complex investigation that spanned multiple provinces, they announced that two suspects had been arrested.
Shaquille Martin, 32, from Brampton, was taken into custody on Dec. 13 and charged with two counts of possession of stolen property, assault with a weapon and five other offences.
Police laid a total of nine charges against the second suspect, a 17-year-old boy who cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. He was arrested on Feb. 9.
The investigation is ongoing, and more charges will be laid, police say. They have not released information on the two other suspects.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Central Robbery Bureau at (905)453-2121 ext. 3410 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
