Some TTC subway passengers got a scare, having to evacuate after a report of smoke at track level on the University Avenue subway line.
Brad Ross, a TTC spokesperson, told CTV News on Wednesday there was a fire at track level between Dupont and St. Clair West subway station.
"One train did have to be evacuated north into St. Clair Station," he said shortly after 2 p.m.
Ross said it was his understanding that no one was injured.
A few minutes after that, the TTC gave the "all clear" signal for the line. Service had been temporarily suspended between St. George and Lawrence West stations.
However, it only lasted for a few minutes until the power was cut again at the same location. The TTC said shortly after 2:30 p.m. that subway service had been restored once again.
