Gas prices in the Greater Toronto Area now stand at just under $1.11 per litre after sliding more than six cents per litre after midnight.

According to GasBuddy.com, gasoline can be found in the GTA for as little as 1.09 per litre.

Compared to other Canadian cities, Toronto drivers are catching a break. Here's what people are paying elsewhere:

  • Calgary - $1.14 per litre
  • Nova Scotia - $1.23 per litre
  • Vancouver - $1.23 per litre

M.J. Ervin and Associates, a Calgary-based consulting firm, estimates the national average to be $1.185 per litre -- a decline of 2.9 cents from last week.

Crude oil's price has been falling in recent days -- a side effect of the uncertainty roiling the world's economy.

On Monday, the November futures price for oil closed at US$96.36 per barrel, down $10.52 on the day.
