The Toronto mayoral race is a gruelling 10-month campaign. A lot can happen over that time, so we’ve created an interactive poll tracker to show the changing fortunes of the top candidates.

A lot has happened in regards to campaign announcements and scandals since the beginning of February, but here are a few significant dates that may affect how people respond to poll questions.

  • May 21, 2014: Rob Ford goes to rehab
  • June 30, 2014: Rob Ford returns from rehab
  • July 14, 2014: Olivia Chow vows to ban handguns
  • August 21, 2014: Karen Stintz drops out of the race
  • August 28, 2014: Emails show Rob Ford threatened to beat up a teacher and made players "roll in goose scat" while he was a football coach

All of the polls except for the one conducted on August 21, 2014 are conducted by Forum Research with samples ranging from about 600 to just under 2,000 people. The poll on Aug. 31, 2014 was conducted by Nanos Research for CTV and The Globe and Mail and only factors in decided voters. However, the survey found the number of undecided voters to be 17 per cent.
