A Toronto man has been taken to Sunnybrook hospital with extensive burns after someone drenched him in gasoline before setting him ablaze.

The incident was called in at 7:20 p.m. on Wednesday.

It occurred outside a dwelling at 20 Jasper Ave., which is in the Weston Road and Black Creek Drive area.

Toronto EMS reported that the 43-year-old victim has third-degree burns to 75 per cent of his body.

He was reported to be in critical but stable condition as of late Thursday evening.

A male suspect is in police custody.
