CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, Ont. - Two men face drug and other charges after police discovered a marijuana growing operation in a barn near the City of Kawartha Lakes.

Police say about 3,000 marijuana plants in various stages of growth were found along with almost seven kilograms of processed pot.

Two homemade swords, three vehicles, digital scales and a large quantity of hydroponic equipment were also seized in the raid on Friday.

Police say the entire barn was being used as a growing centre and that it had been operating for some time.

Both 26-year-old James Bennett of Barrie and 25-year-old Michael Van Vught of Toronto are charged with marijuana production.

They are also charged with possession of dangerous weapons and the theft of electricity and are scheduled to appear in court on May 22nd.
