A 17-year-old boy has been released from hospital with “extremely minor injuries” after he was stabbed coming out of his Toronto school, police say.

Police received a call just before noon Wednesday about the incident, which took place near the baseball diamond at Leaside High School.

The victim was robbed, then stabbed in the back of his shoulder blade as he left his school, police said early Wednesday afternoon.

Police now say the stabbing was the result of a fight.

A boy under the age of 18 has been arrested, they added.

A command post was set up in the area, but no schools were put into hold and secure mode, officers said.
