A stabbing in North York has left a man in his 50s seriously injured, Toronto police say.

Officers were called to the Steeles Avenue East and Yonge Street area just after 8 p.m. for reports of a man who had been stabbed.

When they arrived, police found the victim with serious injuries. He has been rushed to the hospital, and there is no word on his current condition.

Meanwhile, police say the suspect fled on foot and was last seen heading west on Moore Park Avenue.
