Police are investigating a homicide in the city's troubled 12 Division.

Around 11 a.m. on Tuesday, police received a call about the stabbing at 85 Emmett Ave, which is near Eglinton Avenue and Jane Street.

Inside, they found a man -- believed to be in his early seventies -- suffering from stab wounds. He reported lived inside the unit.

Police have not yet said whether they have any suspects or if anyone has been taken into custody.

Staff Sgt. Ron Thoren told ctvtoronto.ca early Tuesday evening that investigators were still at the crime scene. "I imagine we'll be there a while," he said.

There have been a number of homicides in 12 Division this spring. However, the victims in those cases were young men.
