Highway 400 southbound was shut down Saturday evening after a truck spilled its load south of Barrie.

The spill happened between Innisfil Beach Road and highway 89, OPP said.

Witnesses on scene said the truck appeared to have been carrying soybeans.

Police said the back of the truck opened for some unknown reason.

No one was injured and there was no damage reported as a result of the spill, police said.

However OPP said the highway is expected to be shut down until around 1 a.m. on Sunday as the spill is cleaned up.
