Group of Seven artist Lawren Harris's work has been a big lure at auctions in Canada in recent years -- raking in millions of dollars -- and now more pieces will hit the auction block next week.

Sixteen of Harris's pieces are up for sale at the Heffel Fine Art Auction scheduled for Nov. 25.

Last year at the Heffel sale, his oil sketch entitled "The Old Stump, Lake Superior" sold for $3.5 million -- the second-highest price ever paid for a painting in Canada.

At Heffel's spring sale in May, nine Harris works sold for a total of $7.1 million.

David Heffel says Harris's work is so popular because he captured Canada from coast to coast, appealing to a wide audience.

Harris pieces up for sale include "Mountain, Baffin Island North, Arctic Sketch XII" (estimated to sell for $700,000 to $900,000), "Houses, Winter, City Painting V"' (estimate $600,000 to $800,000), and "Lake Superior Sketch" (estimate $300,000 to $500,000).

Other highlights at the Heffel fall auction, which is estimating sales of between $9-$12 million, include Jean-Paul Riopelle's "Sans titre" from 1955 (estimate $800,000 to $1.2 million) and Alexander Colville's "Man on Veranda" (estimate $400,000 to $600,000).
