A man was rushed to hospital after a shooting in the parking lot of a Woodbridge plaza Sunday night.

The man, whom police describe as a young adult, is expected to survive his injuries.

Police were called to the scene at around 9:30 p.m. after a confrontation took place in the lot, located in the Woodbridge and Kipling Avenues area.

Witnesses told police that two vehicles -- a small pick-up truck and a white sedan -- were seen leaving the scene in a rush. Police say several drivers may have been cut off by the suspects as they left the lot.

Investigators say they have identified one suspect but they are still looking for several others. Police are currently combing through video footage from a surveillance camera for additional clues.

Authorities are looking to speak with witnesses who may have seen the vehicles flee the scene. They are asked to call York Regional Police 4 District at 1-866-876-5423 ext. 7400.
