Toronto police are searching the TTC for a man the say is a "potential sexual offender" and they are warning the public to be vigilant on the subway system.

On Saturday at about 6:20 p.m. a woman was in the eastbound subway train near the Bloor-Yonge station.

It is alleged that the suspect made contact with the woman and then grabbed her several times.

Police say the woman screamed and the suspect stopped, leaving the train at the Greenwood station.

The suspect is described as having brown skin and a dark complexion. He has brown eyes and a "pudgy face," according to police.

He is further described as:

  • About 52-years-old;
  • Having a full beard;
  • Standing 5'2" tall; and
  • Wearing three-quarter length black jacket and black cotton hat at the time of the alleged incident.
