Police have deemed a 45-year-old Toronto man’s death suspicious after he was found dead in a burning home near Bayview and Finch avenues early Friday morning.
Toronto Fire Services said the man was found in the back bedroom of a home on Cummer Avenue in North York around 1 a.m.
Authorities said Friday afternoon the deck at the back of the house had been set on fire. A fire spokesman said earlier the blaze started on the back porch and then spread into the home.
However, it is not known if the man died as a result of the fire or due to something else.
