A 30-year-old man is facing a combined 16 charges after he allegedly opened up multiple bank accounts and acquired multiple credit cards using a fake identity.
Police say the man was in possession of a drivers licence and credit cards with the name Jayden Rasanayagam.
It is alleged that the man used the identity to open up a business account under the name Patel Renovations.
Edwin Rasanayagam, of Toronto, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with 16 offences, including three counts of fraud over $5,000.
Police say they believe there may be other victims who have not yet come forward.
