Police investigating apparent stabbing in downtown Toronto that sent man to hospital

Toronto police are investigating after a man was seriously injured in an apparent stabbing downtown on Friday evening.

Police say they responded to the area of Dundas Street East and Church Street, east of Yonge Street, just before 7:45 p.m.

Officers located a man who appeared to have been stabbed in the neck, police say.

Toronto paramedics told CP24 they transported the victim to a trauma centre with serious injuries.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are not immediately known.
