Police say a man in his twenties has died after being stabbed in the neck Saturday afternoon.

The victim was attacked inside a car shortly before 3 p.m. on Windermere Avenue, just west of High Park.

A woman was taken into custody, but police have not said whether she is a suspect. She is being treated for minor injuries.

Investigators say another man left the scene with a small girl, believed to be aged seven.

They are asking that man to come forward so they can ensure the safety of the child. He was described as being white with a striped shirt.

"We are looking for him," Insp. Richard Hegedus told CTV Toronto. "He may be a witness, he may be involved in the offence. We are very concerned about the state of the child."

Hegedus added that police were still considering whether to issue an Amber Alert for the girl, but only have a vague description of the man.

"We don't have enough investigative information at this time to justify an Amber Alert," said Hegedus.
