TORONTO - Media reports say Mexican authorities have made two arrests in last July's slaying of Toronto French teacher Connie Valencia-Russo.

Valencia-Russo's body was found in the trunk of her car behind a north Toronto apartment building two days after she disappeared from her nearby home.

Toronto police had issued murder warrants for Juan Antonio Reyes, 23, and Ana Laura Rodrigues, 19.

The couple, who had been in Canada for a few months, abruptly returned to Mexico, where Valencia-Russo's bank account was accessed.

The Mexican natives had rented a room from Valencia-Russo's former husband, who is not a suspect.
