TORONTO - Four men are facing charges in the theft of a $200,000 diamond ring, and a pair of diamond earrings following a police investigation in Toronto.

Police allege on Jan. 4, a suspect contacted the owner of a jewelry business on Queen Street West and asked to buy a three- or four-carat diamond engagement ring.

The owner told the man he had a five-carat diamond ring.

The man, with another man, went to the owner's business where the suspect made arrangements to buy a $200,000 ring and a pair of $7,000 earrings.

A few days later when the suspects and another man returned to pick up the ring, they forced the victim to the floor, pulled a handgun and fled with the jewelry.

Davide Compagnoni, 41, Marco Cipollone, 34, Antonio Bandiera, 35, and Andrew Gordon, 34, are facing numerous charges, including robbery while armed and forcible confinement.
