TORONTO - A man Toronto police say pulled teeth and made dentures and bridges despite not being a licensed dentist is now facing several charges.

Gzim Bytyqi, 50, from Ottawa, turned himself in to Toronto police on Monday.

Police say Bytyqi operated dental offices in the Gatineau, Que., Ottawa and Toronto areas and was known to operate as Dr. Jimmy Connolly.

Authorities say Bytyqi claims to have been a dentist in Kosovo prior to his arrival in Canada.

Police allege he targeted citizens from his community looking for low-cost dental work.

Bytyqi was charged with criminal negligence causing bodily harm, fraud under $5,000, false representation of a doctor, a dentist title and dentist qualifications and design.
