Peel police have arrested a suspect wanted in connection with a shooting at a banquet hall in Brampton last month.
Police were called to the Throne Banquet Hall, located at 200 Advance Blvd., for reports of a disturbance at around 3:45 a.m. on Dec. 14.
At the scene, officers located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was transported to hospital where we underwent emergency surgery for life-threatening injuries.
Police say the victim remains in hospital and is expected to recover.
On Tuesday night, police identified a suspect sought in connection with the case.
In a release issued Friday evening, police announced the arrest of 34-year-old Dwayne Locksley Campbell of Pickering.
Police said Campbell was arrested following a foot pursuit outside a motel located on Steelwell Road, in the Steeles Avenue East and Highway 410 area, shortly before 11:30 a.m. Friday.
He faces a number of charges including attempted murder, careless use of a firearm and resisting arrest.
Campbell is scheduled to appear in court in Brampton Saturday.
