The Canadian National Exhibition revealed a menu of unique culinary creations on Wednesday, including a spicy, salty, sweet and strange snack: peanut butter Sriracha bites.

This year's grease-laden menu of hybrid foods features deep-fried Sriracha hot sauce, peanut butter and chocolate chips.

The concoction dreamed up by the head chef at Fran's, a Toronto diner open all year.

If the spicy peanut butter Sriracha bites seem too daring, vendor Bacon Nation will be serving up a bacon-wrapped chicken sandwich marinated in Coca-Cola.

Other options include nitrogen-chilled sorbet, deep-fried chocolate chicken, apple pie-flavoured milkshakes, and corn-on-the-cob wrapped in bacon.

Burger prompts change in policy

The CNE has introduced some new food-safety procedures this summer after more than 200 fair-goers got sick after eating "cronut" burgers in 2013.

This year, vendors are providing complete lists of all foods for sale, and food inspectors will be monitoring the temperature at which items are stored. The CNE will also inspect food items off-site, looking for signs of contamination.

The CNE runs Aug. 15 to Sept. 1 at Exhibition Place.
