TORONTO - NDP Leader Howard Hampton says the province is discriminating against an aboriginal charity casino by not allowing it to expand.

Hampton says the Golden Eagle Charitable Casino just outside of Kenora, Ont., is only allowed to offer a limited set of games while other charitable casinos have been allowed to expand.

He says the Kenora casino should be allowed to offer card tables, which would create jobs and boost the northern economy.

Hampton wants the newly elected Liberal government to restart negotiations aimed at sharing gambling revenues with aboriginal communities.

A previous offer to share $2.5 billion over the next 20 years was voted down by aboriginal chiefs in the summer.

But Hampton says that doesn't mean the province can't treat the Kenora casino fairly in the meantime.
