One man is dead and a police officer is among the injured after an apartment fire in Mississauga late Sunday evening.
Peel police said the fire broke out in the north tower of an apartment complex at 1400 Dixie Rd. shortly before 8 p.m.
Police confirmed via Twitter that one man was killed, while both a security guard at the complex and a police officer were taken to a local hospital after being injured trying to evacuate tenants.
The Fire Marshal's Office is probing the fire's cause.
