A Mississauga man has been charged with second-degree murder following a fatal altercation outside a Malton rooming house earlier this week.
Peel police were called to the rooming house on Shallford Road at about 7:15 p.m. on Monday after a fight between two men.
When officers arrived, they found 43-year-old Keith Shortridge suffering from severe injuries. The victim died a short time later in hospital.
Investigators have charged 44-year-old Romeo Kanhai. He was to appear in court on Thursday.
The murder is the region's ninth of the year.
