TORONTO - Provincial police have formally charged a driver in connection with a near-fatal crash Sunday morning on Highway 400 near Bradford.

A 67-year-old man remains in critical condition after his vintage Triumph was struck by a tractor-trailer just after 9 a.m.

The sports car spun into a cargo van, which in turn flipped over and landed back on its tires, as the tractor-trailer left the scene.

Two people in the van suffered minor injuries.

A tractor-trailer suspected of being involved in the collision was later located in Burk's Falls, Ont.

Charged with failing to remain at the scene of an accident and making an unsafe lane change is 60-year-old Louis Walterhouse of Orangeville.
