A 30-year-old man is facing several charges after a stolen taxi crashed into a bridge in the northwest end of Toronto early Monday morning.
Police said the man was not injured after the collision at St. Clair Avenue West and Scarlett Road at 2:30 a.m.
The suspect had wandered away from the scene a short distance, but was found by police and arrested.
Police said that the cab, which was stolen in the Weston Road and St. Clair Avenue West area, was outfitted with a GPS unit to help track the vehicle.
The man has been charged with theft, dangerous driving and assault.
