A father and his son have been charged after a Toronto man was stabbed outside a McDonald's restaurant in the city's east end.

Police said the victim, who remained in critical condition Sunday afternoon, was in the drive-thru lane with his girlfriend around 3:30 a.m. when the two suspects were allegedly banging on vehicles.

Danny Mohammad, 19, and his father Azard Mohammad, 45, allegedly struck the 22-year-old's car. The victim apparently got out to confront them and was stabbed several times in the chest, police said.

He was rushed from the scene at McCowan Road and Eglinton Avenue to Sunnybrook hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery.

Police said they arrested the two suspects shortly after the incident, and a weapon was recovered. They're facing charges of aggravated assault and weapons offences.

A 49-year-old man was also taken to hospital after another stabbing incident early Sunday morning near Hamilton.

Police believe a broken golf club was used to injure the victim just after midnight. Police have not made any arrests.
